It all began in my Sociology 111 class where Brother Wray challenged each student to come up with a project that would better society.  An overwhelming and daunting feeling seemed to hover around me as I began to ask myself, "How can I help?  What can a simple person like me do that will actually make a difference in society?"  As I listened to the responses of the other students my mind began to reflect on the many blessings that I had received in my life, all of which seemed to focus around the temple.  The temple had given me added spiritual and physical strength to make it through the day-to-day difficulties.  The more I visited the temple, the more strength I received.  I then began to think of the saints in Russia where I had served my full time mission for the church.  Traveling to the temple for these saints was very difficult and costly making such an experience a once in a lifetime opportunity.

It was then that my inner voice asked, "What can you do to help these saints and others to enjoy the same blessings that you have received from repeated visits to the temple."  The results of this question is what you are now reading.  It is a charitable fund that I have set up to help less fortunate saints return to the temple for added guidance and strength, or to make their first journey to the House of the Lord.  I have named this project Saviors On Mount Zion because all who participate are helping another do something that he or she can't do on their own.  Such recipients will then act as "Saviors on Mount Zion" for those who have passed on.

I hope this project will serve to strengthen members of the church throughout the world by providing opportunities to visit the temple and perform work for their ancestors.  Such acts will lead to strengthened testimonies and saints who lives will be firmly built upon the rock of Christ.
